What are the development costs of a computer network?
Q. I'm interested in finding out the development costs of building a computer network like Google, Yahoo or Amazon. What are the costs? What would the develpment time look like? What kind of software/hardware would be needed?

A. that depends what you would call a computer network. google, yahoo and others alike use mainframe servers (prolly IBM). the costs of these vary largely. you can get a mediocre one for about $100,000. think how many of these you would consider a computer network and you'll get a price. development time - depends on what you want to run on this "network"

A. Christianity didn't start in Rome, if you're referring to Constantine legalizing Christianity, that was the Council of Nicaea (which was neither a council nor in Nicaea) and it didn't happen in Rome either. In fact, Rome never developed Christianity but has a long history in Catholicism of reacting to developments in Christianity everywhere else.

How difficult is drug research and development?
Q. How clever do you have to be to come up with something? Please don't say "you just have to be interested", I want to know if research and development chemists have to be geniuses.

A. No they don't have to geniuses, but they do have to be patient. It is a long process where 99% of what you try gets nowhere (or at least not to market). There are rational approaches to drug design and it certainly is an interesting and varied subject. Most discoveries are made by teams as it is a mlti-disciplinary area (as they like tosay these days) covering biochemistry, pathology, organic chemistry, metabolism and clinical trial design. If you are interested (sorry) then I suggest you pursue it. Sometimes the final result seems almost like magic but broken down into easy steps its not so hard.
